Scholarship opportunity for young adult Friends!
This intergenerational conference will explore our diversity—in all of its forms—and ways we can use that diversity as our strength.
Some of the conference goals include:
- Sharing our stories and feeling we are heard.
- Building our relationships so our ongoing conversations on diversity remain open and alive.
- Retaining the vitality of our mystical tradition.
March 6–8, 2009 Penn Center on St Helena Island, SC
We expect fees to be between $175–230

- Quaker Press of FGC has just released a new pamphlet by Christina Van Regenmorter, Coming into Friendship as a Gift: the Journey of a Young Adult Friend. By naming the gifts she has received from her meetings, Christina Van Regenmorter offers a resource both for young adult Friends and for meetings striving to welcome, support and nurture the young people in their midst.
Check out the new website for the Quaker Youth Book Project of Quakers Uniting in Publications (QUIP).
The Project will culminate in an anthology of writing and art by young Quakers ages 15-30 from all branches of the Religious Society and all over the world, and will be guided by an editorial board of young Friends. Editorial Board applications are currently being accepted – do you know a young person who might be interested?
This Project is inspired by Whispers of Faith: Young Friends share their experiences of Quakerism, which was spearheaded by QUIP and published by Quaker Press of FGC and Quaker Books of Britain Yearly Meeting in 2005.
The Project has found its web home at QuakerYouth.org. Hosting there is just one way that the Youth Ministries Committee is supportive of and involved in the project!
FGC nurtures Quakerism by nurturing individuals, meetings, and the Religious Society of Friends as a whole. We serve Friends year-round with a wide range of programs and services. read more
